Alienware aurora help...?

if i get the alien ware aurora with dual ati graphics cards ( the best ati graphics cards) and intel i7 ,,, how much fps will i get in counter strike source high quality|||With a rig like that, more than you'll ever need....

What are the best graphics cards i can get for gaming?

i dont care about the price. i want the best ati graphics card and the best nvidia graphics card.|||The first thing to finding a good graphics card is finding out how much VRAM is has. (Video RAM). All the graphics cards are named "Bla Bla 8600 GS XTA Bla bla", but what you need to do is find one with a high amount of VRAM.

I have an Nvidia Graphics card with 512mb VRAM, (which can run demanding games such as Call of Duty 4 no problem), and if you want a REALLY great Video Card, get a video card with 512mb VRAM or more. You can get cards with 768MB VRAM. A 512mb VRAM card costs anywhere between £50-£120 (UK). If you're in the USA, I don't know how much they cost over there (sorry). I bought my Graphics card for £55 which is a great deal.

A card with a higher amount of VRAM will obviously cost more. Remember though, you need a FAST processor and a high amount of RAM aswell as a kick-*** graphics card. 2GB RAM is how much you should have if you don't want problems.

So yeh, find a card with 512mb VRAM or more, and look around for the best deal.

Also, what you could do, is take a look at Gaming PCs online, and see what graphics cards they come with, and look around for those cards.|||Check the link below. It's an online store for everything computer related. They have reviews and ratings to let you actually know which products are the best|||check out this one from nvidia its only $3,000|||You're going to get a lot of different opinions on this, so I just wanted to remind you to check the watts on your current psu (power supply). Then check the system requirements on the various video cards.|||one of the best nvidia cards currently available...and it is a good deal at this price:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

this would be about the only ati offering to even come close in performance:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||As papa stated, look at how many watts your Power Supply can deliver.

You need to calculate how much your system needs. Be sure to include CPU (65-150watts), GPU(30-180watts), hard drive (7watts ea), motherboard (30-50W), sound card (3-15W), DVD (4W) etc and so on.

Then you have to decide on interface. Most pc's are PCIe but if you have an old pc, you MIGHT be AGP.

Then NVidia is usually the best for gaming. I would recommend an 8600GT as a minimum for gaming. I would state the 7 series, but it is going by the wayside. I also dont know much about the new 9 series.

IF you can support SLI (Scalable Link Interface), that provides VERY good gaming - but 1) You motherboard has to support it and 2) Your power supply has to support it.

When looking at Video Cards, make sure:

1) Has enough watts to power your system

2) Has enough power on the 12V rail (shown as +12v@18A on the power supply label - this means it has 216Watts to supply all the objects on the 12V rail.

Good Luck

Going to buy a new graphics card?

What's the best ATI graphics card that I can get that will be able to play Battlefield 3 on full graphics with no problems? I don't care how much it will be.|||Well you also have to consider the PSU, you need to get a estimate of the total power your system is going to be using... The 6990 is the best, then the 5970, the 6970, then the 5870 then the 6950... The 69xx series are the best...|||The BEST? Well that's a loaded question....

The highest-end AMD card on the market is the Radeon HD 6990, but it's very expensive, noisy, runs hot and draws a lot of power. Most systems don't have a power supply strong enough to run the 6990, so you'd probably have to purchase a new power supply first.

And you'd be able to play with a Radeon HD 6970 just as well- that's a better buy.|||a Radeon HD 6950 for under 300 is high on the list but nividia has GeForce GTX 570 for a bit over 300. the main issue is with how much dedicated memory that you have. 1 gb should do you in general but thats beside the point. i'de go with the nividia|||I will go for the gtx 570 or even older version of gtx 480 for the value of performance. HD6990 is way to expensive.

What is the best ATI Graphics card for video editing?

I am looking for a lowish cost (around £50/$70) graphics card for my dads pc. It needs to be good enough to cope with hd video editing in Vegas or Movie Maker and will never get used for any kind of gaming.

I thought perhaps the HD5450 or HD4650 but I don't know enough about the importance of DDR2 v 3, 512 v 1GB or 64 v 128 bit. I obviously know which is better, but not how important they are in relation to editing over say gaming.

Am happy to pay a bit more for the right card but don't want to waste money on features and spec that he will never use.

The PC spec is Phenom 965 AM3, 4Gb ram, Asus M4A78LT-M Motherboard, Windows 7 64bit

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.|||To be honest, I didn't even read the rest of the question, but let me just tell you that the graphics card isn't all that important for video editing. It's more important that you have a powerful CPU.|||Id say go with spending a bit more money and grab a 4850. Its definately worth it.

GTX 460---You can find some 768mb versions under 200.00usd....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

You can find the Radeon 5830 at around 200.00usd and under........http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

Personally I would go for the GTX460(I only use ATI cards) as its a very good card and runs cooler and uses less power than the 5830.....

If you don't like any of those cards then the 5770 would be a decent card to go with...You have the power supply though for a higher end card like the 2 I mention......

Which video card should i get?

Should i get a Nvidia 8800 GTS 320 MB?

- supports direct 10x

- newest video card

- 8800 series by nvidia are best graphic cards for the new windows vista currently

-supports pixel shader 4

or should i get:

ATI Radeon X1950XT 512MB VIDEO CARD

- good graphics

- supports directx 9

- has pixel shader 3

- best ati graphics card currently

-etc.|||nvidia 8800gts mb,is better in every way, check out toms hardware guide in some of the benchmarks it was faster than the x1950xtx. and the x1950xtx is priced $60-80 dollars more http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/02/12/t…|||I have the same dilemna and I've been doing research for the last few days between the two cards.

First...you should be aware of the huge price difference between the two. The 8800 is around $600 while the ATI one is around $200-300. Thats about double the price.

Second..according to cnet and various other sources, Nvidia is NOT the best card for gaming. Cnet points out that ATI cards are capable of supporting both anti-aliasing and high dynamic range lighting effects at once while Nvidia can only do one at the same time.

http://reviews.cnet.com/PNY_Verto_GeForce_7900_GS/4505-8902_7-32065025.html?tag=also

But its really just a personal matter of taste between the two giants.

My conclusion, is to wait for the price drop in Directx10 cards when newer ones come out, if you can wait that long. There arent that many Directx10 games coming out and most game makers will still be developing games using Direct9 unless everyone switches over to Vista...which could be a few years.

Remember, vid cards get better every year..so what could be the best right now will be obsolete in a year or two.|||If you're going to be gaming go with the Nvidia. If you're not go with the ATI. Any serious gamer knows the GeForce is the way to go. Go out to firingsquad, tom's hardware or any numerous others and ask.|||Are you kidding? Have you seen how Crysis looks on DX10? Definately get the NVIDIA 8800. Dx10 is a huge jump up from dx9, and the ati just wont match up.|||It really all depends on the price difference.

Personally I would buy the 8800 because of its DX10 support.

But if the price difference was more than say, $50 I would buy the ATI card.|||I think when it comes to video cards it's all a matter of personal taste and opinion and personally, I don't like ATI, so go with Nvidia.

Regardless, in this case, the Nvidia card has better specs and options than the ATI one.|||As a friend that doesn't know you. i have to say not to buy any videocard right now.

R600s from ATI are coming out in one month (DX10 as well)

all prices will drop in both companies and short after, the 8900 series is coming out

4870x2- 2 cards in one|||If your budget isnt real high look at the ATI-3870, 512mb ddr4, 320 pixel shaders, 256bit, and fast clock speeds. I have only one, Im not a hard core gamer but I am impatient on the pc and I switch screens a lot so I am into gaming pcs as they fit my needs. They are 85.00 dollars at Newegg.com.|||I am using a single ATI 4850 512mb and it's great. I'd have to upgrade my power supply to run two of them with a bridge.

I get 91 fps with COD4 Modern Warfare and fantastic graphics.

What Company Makes The Best Ati Graphics Cards?

?|||ATI

ATI Technologies Inc. (ATI) was a major Canadian designer and supplier of graphics processing units and motherboard chipsets. In 2006, the company was acquired by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and was renamed the AMD Graphics Product Group (or sometimes named ATI Technologies, although the ATI brand was retained for graphics cards.|||They are all about the same as far as quality. Basically all those companies get the same cards but slap on their cooler and logo on it. Some will overclock the GPU and sell it for a bit more. So what you want to look at is which company has the best customer support and return policy in case something goes wrong. Sapphire is a top seller but lately have been having reports of poor customer service. ASUS is very good and has a great reputation along with Diamond and HIS.|||K ATI doesnt make cards.... its sapphire who officially makes them for ATI(manufacturing division). You'll have to cough a little bit more up, but the quality is best. No cheap @$$ capacitors or half placed heatsinks|||that's kinda like asking what franchise makes the best quizno's subs... they're all different per card, to find the one you want, look on the card reviews at

Best ATI graphics card? X1900GT crossfire or XTX1900?

I was wondering what would faster, two x1900GT cards or one radeon x1900 xtx?

and no, my computer cant fit two x1900 xtx

any ideas?

What is the best ATI graphics card for around 200 that will run in crossfire mode?

im looking at the radeon 4800 series but im unsure as to which card will work best. i will be using a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot. computer power and compatibility will not be a problem i just have to decide on a graphics card. i will be running 2 cards in crossifre mode after i decide on a card.

please tell me of a specific card not just the series.

i will be doing gaming as well as photo and video editing.

thank you|||The 4800 series is a very good choice, and I would suggest on getting the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as… item here. It's not only decently under $200, but it's an exceptionally powerful card with Crossfire capability.

Enjoy!|||$200 for both cards, or just one of them?

The Radeon 4770 is cheap (around $100) and pretty decent performance-wise (just a notch under the more expensive 4850).|||cuuzzz it high tech|||if you want to spend $200 total, get two 4850s as they are $100 each.

if you are looking at $200 each, look into the 4890.

you can also get the 4870 x2 which is two 4870s on the same card in crossfire. its the same as getting two 4870s but it only takes up one slot. the 4870 x2 is about $380.|||XFX has an HD 4870 comes with a dual lifetime warranty they are on tiger for about 160$ that's the 1 gig of GDDR5 memory models. I just sold the one I bought brand new for 120$ thats 80$ less than what I paid because of how hot/loud they run and the card was took to much juice imo. I hear the 4770's are amazing in Xfire though and are cheap to buy and also a lot less power hungry/noisy to. I recently dropped my crossfire rig for SLI but if I had to build another id use the 4770's.

What is the Best ATI Graphics Card Setup?

Which would be better, one 5970, or two 5870?

Should I set the two up with crossfireX, or some other way?

If you have any other Ideas that you think would be better, please tell me!|||5970 is better because it has native hardware crossfire which is better than the crossfire bridge. it saves space and power (and slots). Also u can have 2 5970s in crossfire for the ultimate performance.

Need the best ATi graphics card for a 1280x1024 monitor that costs less then 300$?

My friend has a 1280x1024 monitor. He needs an ATi gpu that costs less then 300$?

I'm thinking about the HD 5770 but not sure.|||For that resolution, everything above a 4850 is a overkill (hell a 4850 is still an over kill)

I would get a 4770 maybe. Basically everything over $150 is an overkill and more than 512mb ram is an overkill.

If you plan on upgrading your monitor later, get the best you can for $300 (5850) or a 5770.

If you dont need to have ATi, I would get a GTS 250.

(Overkill because you wont need so much power for that resolution!)|||The 5830 is the best ATI card for under $300, however, it's not necessary for such a low resolution. Unless he plans on getting a new monitor with a larger resolution, he doesn't need a 5830. However, the 5830 would be more future proof and a better choice if he thinks that he'll be getting a new monitor before he gets a new computer.

If not, than a 5770 will be good.

5830 - $270 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

SUGGEST THE BEST ATI GRAPHICS CARD IN MY BUDGET.?

HELLO FRIENDS,

I am from KOLKATA - INDIA, & I'm going to assemble a desktop computer. I am very fond of games & would like to play the very recent ones. So please tell which is the best ATI - Graphics Card which I can get within Rs.3,500 in KOLKATA.

Also write that whether the latest games & upcoming games like - Call of Duty (Modern Warfare: 3) / The Darkness II, etc. can be played with it or not.|||My friend any card at that price cannot run the latest games on even medium settings .. At the lowest settings may be but the games will lag very much ... To play those games I would suggest you to get the ATI 6670 1GB GDDR5 which comes for 5200 rupees or the best would be if you can get an ATI 6770 1GB GDDR5 which costs 6700 rupees .. Now , for the 6670 you need a 400 to 450 watt power supply but for the 6770 you need a 500 watt power supply with two 6 pin pci-e power connectors ... The latter power supply will cost you around 2600 rupees but the previous one costs you about 1000 to 1500 rupees .. Best of Luck ..|||The graphics card alone is not enough to decide if the games can be played on ur system..

I need the other details like processor , memory , motherboard...

As a general speculation i think u may need to put some more money into the graphics card

say atleast 8000 , if u need to play with good resolution and settings..

Suggestions...

Try to cut on sound system, size of monitor ,

also remember a 32 bit CPU cannot use more than 3.7 gb approx of RAM

I may be able to help u better if u give ur other specs..|||You sholud choose between HD 4550, HD 4650, and HD 5450... 1Gb ddr3 of each come in your price range...

while HD 4550 and HD 4650 support directX 10

HD 5450 is comparatively new and it supports directX 11

The HD 4650 and HD 4550 show better results than HD 5450 in terms of graphics acceleration... all these cards are 64 bit because 128 bit models are not available in your price range.

What is the best ATI graphics card for 100$ or less?

Getting a new graphics card and im trying to find the best bang for my buck.|||Best bang for you buck is going to be the Radeon 6850, which can be had for around $130 these days if you know where to look. If you have to be under $100, you can do a 5770 for less than $100. But keep in mind it's about 50% slower than the 6850. So in terms of "bang for the buck" The 6850 gets you more peformance for your money.|||I'd go with the Visiontek Radeon HD 5670.

Whats the best ATI graphics card?

???|||HD3870XT.|||There is no such thing as a "best" Graphics card. You will only get other people's biased opinions.

There is ONLY a "best" Graphics card based on "your SPECIFIC needs". Please re-post and tell us what you want to use it for, with program names, and maybe we can help.|||3870|||An Nivida card. Just click the link to Techreport below and you'll see a comparison of the top end cards from each competitor. The Nivida cards are superior to the ATI. Otherwise the new ATI HD 3870 is their flagship top of the line.|||There are a lot of them but it also depends on the way it plugs into a computer and how much graphics you are going to want. I would say that it is best to take a look at processor, component input, screen resolution and things that the computer would change if you bought one to determine which one you want.

What is the best Nvidia Graphics Card and what is the best ATI Graphics Card?

ok, thats tough, but i'll but into 2 categories:

SINGLE GPU'S:

Ati: well that would be the HD4870, which cost less then the gtx260 and out performs it in most tests

Nvidia: the gtx280, this card is a monster, but will burn a hole in your wallet, it's currently the fastest single core gpu.

DUAL GPU'S

Ati:the HD4870x2 is a nice card, unlike Nvidia, this card has one PCB and has both the cores on it. It's ATI's fastest card, and depending on the application it beats the gtx280 (some games don't support crossfire/sli)

Nvidia: well that would be the 9800GX2, nice card but is a lil slower then the 4870x2 though...

NOW, then pricing of these cards range from $300 to about $500.

Their is no doubt that Nvidia's gtx280 is the fastest single core gou ever made for mass market, but the dual gpu's are where the performance is at|||The best is meant by the most affordable or the highest performance?
